I’m sure you noticed I said Pantone's colors. And yes that is right as for the first time, the blending of two shades, Serenity and Rose Quartz have been chosen for 2016 PANTONE Color of the year.
So Why Were These Two Colors Chosen?
According to Leatrice Eiseman, Pantone Color Institute’s executive director: “With our hectic lives and the frenzy around us, there is an increasing demand for tranquility, and that's just what these hues deliver. Worn separately, they don't have the same power of calmness as they do when worn together. “The combination of a cool and a warm color brings a sense of balance.” I couldn't agree more. As with the hectic world we live in, it is nice to see a trend that represents a sense of balance.
About Pantone 2016 Color Of The Year
Instead of me trying to describe it myself I thought it would be best if I took it directly from Pantone’s Website: "Rose Quartz is a persuasive yet gentle tone that conveys compassion and a sense of composure. Serenity is weightless and airy, like the expanse of the blue sky above us, bringing feelings of respite and relaxation even in turbulent times."
So of course with the gorgeous blue sky this weekend, I decided to search for some products that represented these Pantone colors. In my searches, I found that an excellent way to tie in these colors is by combining your clothing with some accessories. And while I am not a big fan of a light blue shirt mixing it with a pair of jeans, and a Rose Quartz shoe can be fun, especially if it has a cat on it...MEOW! See & Shop what I found below.
