So Let's Get To The Point: Bottom line, the right brushes can make a big difference in the final results! It’s
the difference between a great smoky eye, and a disastrous, “you got beat up
look”. Therefore, if you are one who
chooses to use the mini-brush that comes with your makeup, STOP and invest in
some good quality brushes.
Although
there are so many brands and brushes to pick from, they all have a
purpose. Today I’m going to be referencing
MAC brushes, as these are the ones I am most familiar with and honesty, work
the best.
So What Brushes Do I Spy For My Eye?
239
Eyeshader Brush: I’m in love with this brush as it can do a lot. It is fluffy, so it enables you to pick up and
deposit color to the entire eye lid. This brush has a tapered, rounded edge
with smooth, firm, fine fibers; it’s fool proof.

Dual Fibre Blending Brush: Obviously
by the name, this brush is also great for blending. It is a two-toned,
duo-fibre brush of goat and synthetic fibres that picks up a “Bit” of color providing
a sheer, application. Yes, I said goat
hair, it is very common in makeup brushes and from what I’ve experienced,
it
is the most effective hair type in brushes.
These goat hairs are great at picking up color or powder and depositing
it evenly and smoothly. Synthetic, is
wonderful for applying cream shadows, and cream eyeliners.

Blending Brush: The bristles
on this brush are densely packed, allowing you to pick up a lot of color. I like using this brush to apply shadow in
the crease, as well as using it for shading. (This brush will help you achieve sexy smokey
eyes).
224 Tapered Brush: This brush is a
more controlled brush. It works great
for blending, so if you’re in fear of applying to much color, no worries with
this brush. This brush has soft fibers which taper to form a medium size dome
shape
The 239 Eyeshader Brush is my favorite brush! MAC brushes are great, but I've also tried Sigma brushes and they are very comparable. Have you used these?
